Hollywood Rock & Roll

Hollywood Rock & Roll is a film/lecture series exploring the history of how rock & roll performers and their music have been portrayed in film.  The series will begin with the rise of rock & roll in the mid-50s with Elvis and other artists and track the growing popularity of popular music in films from the 1960s onwards.  Four complete films will be shown, as well as short film segments to highlight major performers and performances.  Documentaries and feature films will also be shown.  Each film will be introduced with a short lecture about its place in film and music history.
