How to Do Things: Introduction to Macrame

Tuesday • September 9 • 6:30–8pm
Supplies fee: $3, required at registration by August 29.  Call Sophie Young for details, 532-2362.
Maximum class size (ages 14+):  12.
Leader:  Crystal Kitchens, member of Huntsville Fiber Guild.

Macramé knots can be used to make textiles.  Knowing a few knots opens up a new world to you.  The craft was used by sailors long ago, especially in elaborate or ornamental knotting forms, to decorate anything from knife handles to bottles to parts of ships.  We might find it more useful for belts, bags and plant hangers.  We’ll start a market bag with soft handles in class.  You can continue to work on your bag at home, and will know how to complete the project.  The leader will bring all supplies and equipment for use in class.
