This DVD provides historical information about our Nation's flag.

While showing over 20 flags of great historic significance, Vane Scott will weave the exciting, entertaining, and even humorous stories of each into a program that will make you come away a proud and better American.

See some of the most unusual and at times very strange stars and stripes that our forefathers carried into their battles for freedom.

You will relive those first terrifying moments when the minutemen rallied under their strange flag, met the British Regulars at the Concord Bridge and "fired the shot heard 'round the world."

Hear how George Washington entered the war and took command of the first continental army which he personally financed. And the fascinating story of our "navy" and John Paul Jones battling the Great British Navy and winning the battle, but losing his beloved Bon Homme Richard. See the unusual stars and stripes he hoisted on the captured British man-o-war as he sailed triumphantly home.

You will hear the incredible story of how the United States Marines began and how they helped start the revolution.

You'll learn how the free black former slaves, also fought heroically for our freedom!

After the first "Flag Resolution" was passed there were no flags alike and you will see them, for they are the Many Faces of Old Glory. Then learn the story of Betsy Ross and how she cut the perfect 5 point star with one cut of the scissors! It is amazing!

Adults and older children are invited to the Library auditorium to learn "how we got our Flag, and how we got the United States".
