Introduction
Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is initiating a search for a 21st century Library Services Platform (LSP) that will meet the needs of our growing physical and digital collection for our high tech community.
The RFP
You may download a copy of the RFP from this page. No registration is required to get a copy of this document. This document is only available as a PDF.
Schedule
The RFP will be released to vendors on Wednesday, 14 November 2012. Responses to the RFP are due by 2:00 PM CST, Thursday, 17 January 2013.
Registration
To stay current with information regarding the release of this RFP, you may either subscribe to this page's RSS feed (see the RSS icon at the bottom of this page), or sign up for email alerts on new posts. To get emailed alerts, you must register for this blog on this registration page (be sure to check the Join Library Services Platform RFP checkbox); registration is voluntary, your information will only be used for this RFP, and will not be shared with anyone outside of HMCPL.

RFP Process Concluded
After starting our RFP review process earlier this year for a Library Services Platform, I can officially report that we have signed a contract with ByWater Solutions this week!
We’re tremendously excited about Koha, working with ByWater Solutions, and eagerly anticipate the expansion of services that HMCPL will be able to provide for our patrons.
We'd like to thank all of the vendors who responded to our RFP. This was a intense review and we deeply appreciated everyone's patience as we worked through this process.
Kind regards,
Sherry Sakovich

Library Services Platform Proposal Update
I wanted to provide everyone with a brief update. The Library Services Platform committee is still in the process of reviewing technical responses. We appreciate your patience.
Library Services Platform Proposal Response
Our library services platform technical response opening took place on Friday, 1/18. The following vendors responded to our RFP:
- Auto-Graphics
- ByWater Solutions
- Innovative Interfaces
- OCLC
- Polaris
- SirsiDynix
- VTLS
We will continue our review process through February and March. As we narrow the group of responses, we will contact selected vendors for on-site demonstrations.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Sherry Sakovich
Library Services Platform Proposal Opening Rescheduled
Due to inclement weather, the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is closing at 1:30pm today, Thursday, January 17th.
As a result, the library services platform proposal opening has been rescheduled to Friday, January, 18th, 1:00pm in the Main Library Boardroom, 915 Monroe Street, Hunstville, AL.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this causes.
Thanks so very much,
Sherry Sakovich
Addenda #21: Demonstrations
Question:
The request for proposal wasn’t too specific on demonstrations. I’m assuming you will have your top choices in for demos, do you have an idea when that might be, or is it too soon to know?
Answer:

Danette E. Fullmer RE: Request for Proposal-Library Services Platform Tue 5:33 PM 30 KB The request for proposal wasn’t too specific on demonstrations. I’m assuming you will have your top choices in for demos, do you have an idea when that might be, or is it too soon to know?Answer:
Once we review all of the technical responses, we'll narrow the group to our top choices and invite those vendors in for demonstrations. Our review process will be during February and March so the the demonstrations will also take place during that time.
Addenda #20: Sealed Pricing Submittal
Question:
Can you please clarify the submittal requirement for the Sealed Pricing. How many copies of this do you require and is this required as an electronic copy in addition to the printed copy?
Answer:
For the sealed pricing, we request one printed copy and an electronic copy is not necessary.
