Download:
The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library and the Huntsville Chinese Association are hosting a special event to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Saturday, February 13, guests will usher in the Year of the Tiger in the main library’s atrium (located at 915 Monroe Street in downtown Huntsville) with a family-friendly festival of Chinese history and culture in the main library. The celebration begins at 7 p.m. with Chinese music, art, and dance. Martial arts demonstrations, fashion shows, a wide variety of children’s activities, and food provided by area Chinese restaurants will round out this unique experience.
The Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays, and this event will reflect the significance. Tickets are $15 for adults 16 years and older, $10 for ages 11-15, and children 10 and under are welcome free of charge. Tickets may be purchased at the Bailey Cove Branch Library, the Madison Public Library, and the Main Library’s administrative office. Please call 532-5975 for more information.
