Nursing Home Outreach List
The Extension & Outreach Department of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library serves the needs of patrons residing in 35 nursing homes and assisted living facilities. We provide collections of approximately 150 large print books, videos, audio books and Bi-Folkal kits to each center. The collections are rotated approximately every three months depending upon the needs of each individual site.
The Outreach Librarian schedules and performs the delivery and return of the collections. The Outreach Librarian is also in contact with the Activity Person at each center to assess the special needs of the patrons being served. Upon request, story hours are shared with the residents of the centers at their different locations.
