Gifts that keep on giving

A donation to your Huntsville-Madison County Public Library makes our whole community a better place to live, work, and play.

Your dollars help us to put new books, CDs, and DVDs on library shelves, and add ebook titles and other electronic materials. Your support helps us to present educational and entertainment programming for children and adults.

Our library system is ranked No. 1 in the state for the number of items we circulate to our patrons. But our funding per person is No. 127 – about one third the amount of the Birmingham and Hoover libraries.

Your gifts can help us stay No. 1.

You can make a tax-deductible donation to the Huntsville Library Foundation at huntsvillelibraryfoundation.org. This year the Huntsville Library Foundation fully funded the library system’s Digital Media Zone in addition to providing more than $21,000 in grants to individual library branches.

You can also make contributions in memory of a lost loved one or in honor of someone special by contacting Diane Metrick at dmetrick@hmcpl.org or 256-532-5950.

If you have too many books or magazines cluttering up your home, donate those to the Friends of the Library. Proceeds from the FOL Bookstore buy new materials for the library. Find out more at 256-532-5986.
