Summer Reading Book Tracker (Teens)
Teens! Submit book reviews to us and each review will count as 1 hour volunteer time with HMCPL. Each review must include specific information- why you chose the book, what your liked/disliked about it, if you would recommend it to others, and a favorite quotation/passage/part that resonated with you. Treat this like you would anything you’d like to get credit for- incomplete reviews cannot earn volunteer hours.
Tips for writing a book review
Here are six steps for how to write a book review for school and beyond:
- Begin with a brief summary of the book. ...
- Pick out the most important aspects of the book. ...
- Include brief quotes as examples. ...
- Write a conclusion that summarizes everything. ...
- Find similar books. ...
- Give it a star rating.
