Makersfaire

Location:

Downtown Huntsville Library

The Downtown Huntsville Library is hosting a Makersfaire on Sat, Oct 28th. As part of the event, we will be hosting a Repair Café. In order to make the event a success, we will need fixers to assist with the event and would like to do a call for volunteers.

What is a Repair Café?
Repair Cafés are free events that focus on repairing things (together). Specialists known as fixers have expertise in a number of fields and assist visitors with repairing clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, et cetera.

Visitors bring their broken items from home. Together with the fixer they start making their repairs in the Repair Café. It’s an ongoing learning process. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. You can also get inspired at the reading table – by leafing through books on repairs and DIY. Repair Cafés promote education, collaboration, and DIY.
