How to Do Things: Sensational Seasonal Greeting Cards

Marsha Hosner, StampinUp! Demonstrator, leads this make-and-take class.

You can choose two seasonal cards to make, complete with specialty embossed paper,

doodads, stamps and ink.  Additional cards are optional, with supplies paid during the class.

Marsha will bring all the tools and other supplies for use in class.

Registration deadline (age 12+): November 21.

Supplies Fee: $3.00, required at registration.

Speed Crafting @ Bailey Cove

The Bailey Cove Friends of the Library will present Speed Crafting @ Your Library on Saturday, November 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bailey Cove Library, 1409 Weatherly Plaza.

We're asking for a $15 donation to participate in this special fundraising event. Participants will receive four craft kits, class instruction, refreshments, door prizes, and more.

Tickets are available at the Bailey Cove Library. Sign up early because space is limited.

How to Do Things: Beaded Snowflake Earrings

 

Make a pair of beaded snowflake earrings!

Earring findings will be provided.  If you have metal allergies or don’t have pierced ears, bring your own earwires/earring findings.  It would be helpful to be familiar with working with thread and needle.  No beading experience is required. If you have sharp embroidery scissors, bring them.  The leader will bring all the other tools and supplies you’ll need to use during the workshop.

Knit a Lacy Ruffled Scarf on a Spool Knitter - No Needles!

Maximum number of participants:  12 (adults and youth ages 14 and up)

 

Learn to make a lacy, ruffled scarf on an 8-peg spool knitter. It's easy to use novelty yarns on these looms. Bring a skein of "ruffle" yarn (Red Heart Sashay is one brand), your own 8-peg knitting spool (one end of the "Jumbo Spool Knitter") and "pick". Creativity on display

Artists and artisans from Madison County’s craft guilds will present demonstrations and works from their members during a Craft Expo on Saturday, January 11, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Main Library downtown.

There will be live music as well as food and craft items for purchase. Admission is free.

"Love in the Library"

Get in the mood for romance!

Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is sponsoring a “Love in the Library” Valentine Fair on Saturday, January 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Valentine Fair will be in the Main Library Auditorium, 915 Monroe Street. The event is free of charge and no registration is required.

Romance writers will be on hand to meet readers and sign books. Craft vendors will demonstrate Valentine goodies you can make for your special someone. A selection of writers will present readings and music.
