Learn about the history of quilts and their modern incarnations during “Quilts Then and Now,” a show sponsored by the New Hope Friends of the Library, on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The show will be held at three locations in New Hope: the Elizabeth Carpenter Library, 5496 Main Drive; New Hope Church of Christ, 238 College Ave., and Northern Lodge #278, 2435 Old Gurley Pike. Admission is $5.

The Bailey Cove Friends of the Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, January 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, January 13, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Bailey Cove Public Library, 1409 Weatherly Plaza.

The Friends of the Library will hold a Blooming Book Sale on Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the main library, 915 Monroe St.
All books will be 50 percent off. The sale is for Friends members only, so if you want to participate, join the Friends group before June 23. Monrovia Friends of the Library is sponsoring our first annual Read-A-Thon as a fund raiser for the Monrovia Library. Saturday, March 7th will be the main reading day at the Monrovia Library. We will have special guest readers, snacks, and prizes for all reading logs turned in. Children are welcome to come in the pjs and bring a pillow or stuffed animal. We'll have a fun day hanging out to read and raising money for the library.
If you can't make it on March 7th, you can read any time between Sunday, March 1 and Saturday March 14. You can have sponsors pay you so much per minute or just make a flat donation. If you prefer, you can just make a donation yourself. Checks should be made payable to “Monrovia Friends of the Library.” All donations should be turned in at the checkout desk at Monrovia Library by Monday, March 17. Join us in a reading extravaganza on Saturday, March 7 all day as the Monrovia Friends of the Library hosts our first annual Read-A-Thon! Keep track of the minutes you read and get donors to donate so much per minute or make a donation yourself. We will have special readers throughout the day. Children are invited to come in their pjs and bring a pillow to read. You can also read the week before and/or the week after if you are unable to come the day of the event.
