The Hertha Heller Forum, presented by Friends of the Library, will hold the annual Poets’ Choice Readings by members of the Huntsville Literary Association's Poetry Writing Workshop on Sunday, January 26, at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Main Library downtown.

HERTHA HELLER FORUMS:
February 26 - Cathy Puett Miller, Community Impact Coordinator for Educational Programs, United Way of Madison County, presents "Reading and Writing as Tools for Life." She will explore how reading and writing are faring in Madison County and discuss community initiatives and collaborations.
The final FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY Hertha Heller FORUM will be held on Sunday, March 27, at 2 o'clock in the auditorium of the Main Library. The Forum will feature Mississippi author Ellen Douglas, and will be presented by Eugene Ham, a life-long friend of the author. Mr. Ham is a retired teacher, editor, illustrator, and a writer of book reviews. Influenced by Faulkner, Ms. Douglas has authored seven novels and two books of short stories. Mr. Ham will provide an overview of her body of work and the themes which are treated in most of her work, especially in her most popular novel, Can't Quit You, Baby. The Forum is free.

The Friends of the Library presents The Huntsville Literary Association's POET'S CHOICE READINGS! The second Friends of the Library HERTHA HELLER FORUM of 2011 will be held on February 27 at two o'clock in the auditorium of the main Huntsville-Madison County Public Library. Members of HLA Poetry Workshop, which meets monthly, will select poems written during the past year to be read at the Forum. The Forum is free and open to the public.
