Teen Refashion Show

Patrons age 14 - 18 are invited to join our first ever Teen Refashion Show. The challenge is Upcycling. Participants must take existing garments and transform them for a panel of judges. Participants are welcome to upcycle shoes, hats, and accessories, if they wish, but the judging will focus on the primary textile elements of the outfit.

Participants must complete a portfolio submission by September 30th in order to participate in the runway show. This portfolio must include before and after photos of each piece of the outfit that has been upcycled, as well as a brief statement explaining how and why each item was transformed. The portfolio must also include approval by a parent/guardian of the final design in accordance with the HMCPL Teen Refashion Show Dress Code

Participants may model the final outfit themselves or provide a model (age 14-18). The model must receive permission from a parent/guardian before they can participate in the show. The participant (and the model, if not the participant), must attend both the Dress Rehearsal on October 1st, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and the Teen Refashion Show on October 3rd, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
